Highlights of Passover 2010
- 4-25-2010
Once again we met at the Divisional General Headquarters 8-10 Lockett Avenue Kingston Jamaica for the observance of another Feast of the Lord’s Passover and Seven Days of Unleavened Bread; Abib (April) 14-20, 2010. From the beginning to the end we had a most spirit-filled and glorious experience; one that we can easily say was the best Passover ever. The songs were melodious and uplifting, the testimonies enlightening and of strength to our souls and most importantly the unadulterated Word of God was preached to us by God’s messengers.
There was so much to gain. We heard from the Minister of Music –Elder Terrence Bloomfield-on the night of the Passover that we have to know ourselves and without faith it is impossible to please God; the mysteries of God were unfolded before our eyes. On the First Day Elder Radcliffe Mason told us of our roots and admonished us of our duty to God – to serve Him while we are young and have the strength. On the Second Day the daughters truly lifted our souls. There was much substance in the many exhortations from the young and the aged women. Sister Elder Brown reminded us of the Power of the Holy Spirit. On this day our District Mother Sarah Whittle was honoured for her outstanding work and contribution to her family and the Church. Truly a remarkable Daughter of Jerusalem and Sister of Mercy. Third Day being Ministers’ Day, the sons of thunder expounded on the death, suffering and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ- He died that you and I might live. Bishop Purcell Brown emphasized that many speeches have been given by great men from different platforms but the greatest message came from the graveyard; that message was “He is risen!”... Because He lives we can face tomorrow... we have that assurance of eternal life. The word of the Lord on the beginning of Sabbath came to us from Deacon Mark Norman- “What is your motive?” ...a very thought provoking question raised using the lesson in Isaiah 5:1-9. We were admonished to have good motives.
On the Sabbath, Bishop Purcell Brown -preached about the call of God to duty-As God called Moses in Ex. 3:4. He also calls us from all walks of life to His purpose-when He calls we should respond willingly to His bidding. The Youth Day was lively and beneficial- The sermon was brought to us by Bro. Durval Hamilton. His topic was deliverance; Ex. 15:1-13, Psalm 71:1-5. God delivers time and time again. When God delivers He elevates- put us in a better position. Children’s Day was awesome- out of the mouth of babes came perfect praise. There were little ones who sang their compositions- just marvellous!!! We were entreated by Elder Linden Berry from Ex. 17 to be obedient; to obey is better than sacrifice. The final day was no less effective; there was much rejoicing and testimonies in the spirit of prophecy. Elder Terrence Bloomfield admonished in the scripture lesson from St. Luke 2 that we do not leave Jesus behind but take Him with us. Elder Rohan Trusty preached a very motivational sermon from Ex. 14:13-18 instructing us to go forward positively leaving behind envy, jealousy, malice and hypocrisy. When the Devil and negativity faces us we just have to step on them and shake them off.
Oh what a refreshing time experienced in the company of our many brothers and sisters from the hustle, bustle and cares of life!!!
THE WEEK’S BUZZ WORDS:

The Gospel Of The Kingdom
The Kingdom is also for individuals who have the fortitude to endure much tribulation, Acts 14:22 and those who are too determined to turn back, Luke 9:62.
The Gospel of the Kingdom of God is His truth which His Church declares.
All Hail Saints:
Passover 2010 was great! I enjoyed the few days I got to spend with the saints.
Peace Be Unto You All.
All Hail Ministers and Saints:
Greetings in the Sprirt of Prophecy; trusting all is well with the household of faith.
I just want to thank God through this medium for calling me into the Church of God and Saints of Christ. I am glad and really impressed with this web site and I hope we will continue to do the work of Him that called us into His Church.
Peace Be unto Thee
